Frigidaire FFAD7033R1

Frigidaire FFAD7033R1
Would you like a powerful dehumidifier from a well-known brand that can easily remove all the excess humidity, prevent molds, and remove foul odors from your house? Well, here you have it. The Frigidaire FFAD7033R1 Energy Star dehumidifier is an efficient, sufficiently quite machine that does the job perfectly. It received high praise and ratings from both users and experts, and is definitely one of the so far.

Features

  • Removes up to 70 pints of humidity per day
  • Energy Star rated
  • Front, pull-out 13.1-pint tank with handle
  • Splash guard
  • Full tank alert and auto shut-off
  • Continuous operation with gravity drainage
  • Low temperature operation (down to 41 Degrees Fahrenheit)
  • Ready-Select electronic controls
  • Digital humidity readout
  • 24-hour timer, control lock

Proz

  • As a powerful unit, the FFAD7033R1 is surprisingly easy to use. There is no setup to talk about as you basically plug it in and it immediately starts removing moisture. And if you have a suitable drain, you can simply connect a hose, and definitely forget the dehumidifier is working.
  • The water collection tank is easy to empty (although it leaves a bit of a water trail behind; see Cons)
  • Frigidaire changed the airflow direction with this model. While the previous models like the took the air in from the front and exhausted from the back, the air goes in at the back and out at the side with the new FFAD7033R1. There are two advantages of this novelty: first, you don’t risk overheating if the back of the dehumidifier is too close to a wall, and second it makes the dehumidifier a bit quieter than the previous models.
  • It is fairly quiet, but you shouldn’t expect to put it next to your bed and have a good night’s sleep, if you know what we mean.
  • The accuracy of the humidity readout is acceptable, but you may want to buy or use a separate unit if you want to be 100% sure.

Cons

  • The water bucket is smaller than that of FFAD704DWD, and also a bit clumsy as it can leave a trail when removed for emptying
  • The hose adapter also is a bit problematic as it requires care when fitting (you should be careful when tightening)
  • Some users complained that it fails to take humidity down to around 40%; we believe this is not a problem on the machine’s part as it definitely is powerful enough to reach that level. The one thing that some first time users miss is that if the ambient is too moist, it may take 2-3 days of constant operation to take humidity down to 40-45%. After that, the unit should have no problems keeping humidity low.
  • The side exhaust fan produces quite a bit of heat, so if you’ll be using it in a hot environment, you may be a bit annoyed. But to be frank, that is the case with any powerful dehumidifier, so don’t hold it against Frigidaire.

Where

With a 91% rating given by hundreds of actual users, Frigidaire FFAD7033R1 is definitely a decent dehumidifier. It is powerful, efficient and easy to use. If you are dealing with excess humidity and looking for a good machine to make your home more comfortable, we can’t see how you can go wrong with this model.
